Bassma is a Lebanese non-profit association for social development, founded in 2002 (178A/D), which aims to empower the most destitute families and help them become self-sufficient.
Families are recruited based on their needs, without any political or religious discrimination.
BASSMA has supported 600,000 persons over the last 20 years, and has received several awards for its good governance and transparency.
BASSMA is extending its reach as we will be helping thousands of families in the Bekaa, a rural
region that suffers from a high rate of poverty and where farmers, women and youths have little or
no access to capacity building programs.
is a community-based social and educational farm, which aims to establish a
socially and environmentally conscious value-chain for agriculture, farming, and farm-to-table
concept. It is an agri-food and agri-tourism project developed by Bassma over a 6,400 m2 area, a
land that has been offered by Saint Joseph University to Bassma.
Located in Taanayel, pearl of the Bekaa, SARWA’s objective is to fight poverty and hunger by breaking the cycle of poverty, through a family-oriented educational farmhouse, with the mission of empowering rural men, women and youths and leading them to self-sufficiency.
The main aim of the project is to ensure the social reintegration and self-sufficiency of families in
need. These topics include food security, education, vocational training, employment and social
reintegration.
SARWA by BASSMA is thus a vital project that will help enhance a whole region and empower a big community of destitute families.
Lebanon is in dire need of development projects such as SARWA to help recover from an unprecedented social and economic crisis.
Your contribution will make a great difference in the economic status of a whole region.
