Family Adoption
Adopting a family is more than just a financial contribution; it is a bond of solidarity between disadvantaged families and those who wish to support them. When adopting a family in need, the donation goes directly to the rehabilitation and empowerment of this family.

Become a Godfather
A Godfather is an individual who commits to adopt a BASSMA family by donating minimum 250$ per month or 3,000$ per year. This monthly donation will help improve the living conditions of a destitute family at all levels, leading all family members to psychological and financial autonomy. Many individuals have already decided to make these monthly contributions to BASSMA’s cause, and their support is of a great help.


Code Of Conduct
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to:

• Set the standards of the Godfather donations
• Clarify what is expected from Godfathers when they donate for a BASSMA family and what are the commitments and responsibilities provided by BASSMA.

As a Sponsor of a BASSMA family, I am committed to:
Financial donations
As a Godfather of a BASSMA family, I have the possibility to:

• Meet the family I am supporting (only in presence of a BASSMA representative)
• Participate in the family activities and cultural events organized by BASSMA

As a Godfather of a BASSMA family, I am committed to: 1. Financial donations

• Give my donations to BASSMA directly and not to the family, as BASSMA is in charge of the family budget planning
• Fulfill my commitments and recognize my responsibility by paying on time
• Act in transparency and share my experiences and suggestions with BASSMA team

2. Family visits and relationship with the family:

• Respect:I commit to respect all members of the sponsored family: their dignity, their religious beliefs and political opinions. I commit to not discriminate or make judgments about cultural, political and religious differences of the family I am supporting. This includes the absence of all of physical, verbal or psychological violence.
• Confidentiality:I commit to respect the privacy of all members of the sponsored family, and not disclose the confidentiality of private and personal information of BASSMA and people helped by BASSMA from others.
• Cooperation:cooperate as a BASSMA team member with BASSMA volunteers and staff
• Responsibility:I commit to providing as much security as possible to all members during outings and activities I plan to attend with them.

In return, BASSMA commits to:

• Consider the Godfather as an effective part of the organization
• Provide information on the evolution of the family
• Be transparent about the use of the donation
• Use the donation only for rehabilitating the Godfather’s family through our different programs: food aid, healthcare, house renovations, clothes, family activities, education, etc.
• Include the Godfather in the development and the improvements of the activities of BASSMA, by taking into consideration his feedback
• Send a picture of the family to the Godfather as well as regular letters written by the family members keeping him posted about all updates and life improvement.
• Invite the Godfather to BASSMA’s Annual Dinner

In return, and upon the Godfather's consensus, BASSMA shall provide recognition for the Godfather's contribution by displaying the name of the Godfather on BASSMA's website, if he/she wishes to.
