It is very hard to grow old in Lebanon, as Loneliness and Poverty are your fatality...
Abandoned, sick, hungry and cold, you need a helping hand to believe in Life again, to have hope and to heal your physical and emotional wounds.
No family to celebrate Christmas with, no home to decorate the tree or sit by the fire, no Christmas menu to fill your stomach….Is cold and loneliness your state at Christmas??
At BASSMA, we are your family; we are here to celebrate with you, warm your hearts and heal your wounds.
On Saturday, December 22, 50 elderly guests were invited to Christmas celebration at BASSMA’s Smiles Restaurant in Badaro, where a beautiful tree illuminated the place and Christmas songs filled the air.
Happy to be there, our guests were served by BASSMA’s volunteers and the IC students.
The menu comprised of Salad and Rice&Chicken was deliciously prepared and offered by HealhBox whom we thank from the bottom of our heart. We also thank the IC students for their devotion and for offering the Christmas cakes!
At the end of lunch, bags of clothes were distributed in addition to new handkerchiefs to each and every one of the guests.
Yes, we believe that each person has the right to live in dignity, no matter what their age. We hope that BASSMA was able to draw smiles on our guests' faces during this special period of the year, giving them a sense of family celebration that they have been lacking for so much. Merry Christmas to all.
